Main Ingredients
- 2 cups Chickpeas cooked or canned
- 1 large Onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 inch Ginger minced
- 2 tablespoon Oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
- 1 can Tomatoes diced
- 1 cup Water
- to taste Salt
- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice freshly squeezed
- 2 tablespoon Cilantro chopped
Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
Add minced garlic and ginger, cook for another minute.
Add turmeric, coriander powder, and garam masala. Stir well.
Add diced tomatoes and cook until they soften.
Add chickpeas and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Season with salt and lemon juice. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
