Chicken and Broth
- 1 whole chicken cut into pieces
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups carrots sliced
- 2 cups celery sliced
- 1 large onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
Dumplings
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoon butter melted
1. In a large pot, combine chicken, broth, carrots, celery, onion, and garlic. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
2. While the chicken is cooking, prepare the dumplings. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and melted butter until just combined.
3. Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling mixture into the simmering broth. Cover and cook for 10 minutes, or until the dumplings are cooked through.
4. Serve hot and enjoy!
