  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 8 slices bread preferably brioche or challah
  • ¼ cup brown sugar for topping

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and sugar.
  3. Arrange the bread slices in a baking dish.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the bread, making sure each slice is well-coated.
  5. Let the bread soak for at least 10 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the top of the soaked bread.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the custard is set.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
