Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 8 slices Bread preferably rye
  • 4 slices Cheddar Cheese or any cheese you like
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 medium Onion sliced
  • 2 tablespoon Butter for grilling
  • to taste Salt and Pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a bit of butter.
  2. 2. Cook the onions until they are caramelized, then set aside.
  3. 3. Form the ground beef into 4 patties, season with salt and pepper, and cook in the skillet until done to your liking. Set aside.
  4. 4. Butter one side of each bread slice. Place 4 slices, butter side down, in the skillet.
  5. 5. Add a slice of cheese, a beef patty, some caramelized onions, and another slice of cheese on top of each bread slice in the skillet.
  6. 6. Top with the remaining bread slices, butter side up. Grill until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, flipping once.
  7. 7. Serve hot and enjoy!
