Main Ingredients
- 2 cups Basmati Rice rinsed
- 1 cup Mixed Vegetables chopped (carrots, peas, beans)
- 1 large Onion sliced
- 2 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 inch Ginger grated
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
- to taste Salt
- 3 cups Water
- 2 tablespoons Cilantro chopped
1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
2. Add sliced onions, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté until onions are golden brown.
3. Add chopped mixed vegetables and cook for 5 minutes.
4. Add rinsed basmati rice, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
5. Pour in water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is cooked.
6. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
