Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, cook until softened.
Add ground beef to the saucepan and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
Stir in marinara sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, and ¼ cup of Parmesan cheese.
In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Place a layer of lasagna noodles on top.
Spread a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles. Add another layer of meat sauce. Repeat layers, ending with a layer of meat sauce.
Sprinkle remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Let lasagna rest for 10 minutes before serving.
