Main Ingredients
- 4 lbs Pork Shoulder cut into large chunks
- 1 tablespoon Salt
- 1 tablespoon Black Pepper freshly ground
- 1 tablespoon Oregano dried
- 2 teaspoon Cumin ground
- 1 cup Orange Juice freshly squeezed
- 4 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 cup Chicken Broth
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
Season the pork shoulder chunks with salt, pepper, oregano, and cumin.
In a Dutch oven, heat some oil over medium-high heat. Brown the pork on all sides.
Add the orange juice, garlic, and chicken broth to the pot. Bring to a simmer.
Cover the pot and transfer it to the oven. Cook for about 4 hours, until the pork is tender and can be easily shredded.
Remove the pork from the pot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the pot and mix with the juices.
Serve the carnitas in tacos, burritos, or with rice and beans.
