  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk warmed
  • ½ cup butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the melted butter until the batter is smooth.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
