Ingredients 

Dough

  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • 1 cup milk warmed
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter melted
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Filling

  • 12 sausages pre-cooked

Instructions 

  1. 1. Dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, mix together the milk, sugar, melted butter, and beaten eggs.
  3. 3. Add the yeast mixture to the milk mixture.
  4. 4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. 5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, then place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  6. 6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. 7. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and flatten each piece into a rectangle.
  8. 8. Place a sausage in the center of each rectangle and roll the dough around it, pinching the seams to seal.
  9. 9. Place the kolaches on a baking sheet and let them rise for another 20 minutes.
  10. 10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
