Who We Are

The Gastrodome Group was established in 1999 by Edward and Sylvie Hyde, with the La Bodega series of authentic Spanish restaurants, a French European styled restaurant called The Press Room Bistro and Gastrodome Catering Services.

Edward and Sylvie Hyde first moved to Malaysia in April 1997. Edward, a British national, has an extensive background in Food & Beverage including running the Harvey Nichols Restaurants in London. Sylvie, a French national, is also experienced in the restaurant business, and having fallen in love with Kuala Lumpur, they set out on their own to make a mark in the up and coming culinary scene of the city. Over the past 18 years, Edward and Sylvie have played an important role in supporting the community, opening up job opportunities with the employment of over 250 Malaysians, contributing positively to the Malaysian economy and working in partnership with various local charities.
