You cook. You care. You’ve got something worth sharing.
If that sounds like you, this is your place.
At GASTRODOME.COM.MY, we believe honest food deserves a home—and so do the people behind it. Whether you're working from your own kitchen in Malaysia or building your first recipe archive, we welcome cooks who write, and writers who cook.
Why Share Your Work Here?
Recipes tell stories—through ingredients, through memory, through hands that prepare them. Sharing yours helps others create moments they’ll remember. Maybe it’s a Sunday soup like the one your mum made. Maybe it’s a late-night snack that got you through college. Whatever it is, it matters.
This platform isn’t about trends. It’s about flavor. When you publish with us, you’re contributing to a space that values homegrown insight, everyday cooking, and the kind of food people actually want to make.
What You’ll Gain
Visibility
Once your recipe goes live, it’s not hidden in the shadows. It’s shared across our site and social platforms, where real people—especially in Malaysia and Southeast Asia—browse for everyday cooking ideas. We don’t chase trends; we focus on food people will actually make. That gives your work long life and lasting relevance.
Credibility
Every published submission lives under your name unless you request otherwise. You’ll have the chance to build trust with a growing audience of everyday cooks looking for recipes they can rely on. If you're building a food portfolio, writing a cookbook, or just proud of your work, this is your space to be seen.
Personal Reward
There’s something special about watching your recipe come to life in someone else’s kitchen. Whether they nailed it or added their own twist, that exchange brings a kind of fulfillment that’s hard to match. You get to be part of someone else’s memory—even if just through a bowl of soup or a slice of cake.
Connection
Writing for GASTRODOME means joining a community that values food with meaning. You won’t be speaking into a void. Readers often comment, share, and reach out with their own stories or twists on your dish. It's a chance to connect with others who cook with their hands and hearts.
What We Accept
Our doors are open to a wide range of recipes and formats. Whether it’s an old family favorite, a local specialty from your hometown, or something you whipped up last night that just worked—we’re here for it.
We regularly publish across six core categories:
- BREAKFAST & BRUNCH — Morning meals, quick bites, comforting starts
- DESSERTS — Sweet, simple, or rich enough to remember
- MAIN COURSES — Flavor-forward dishes with real structure
- DRINKS — Sips, brews, blends, and pantry-based coolers
- SALADS — From leafy and crisp to grainy and filling
- SOUPS — Light broths, hearty bowls, family-style comfort
Got a noodle recipe that doesn’t fit the box? A snack that defies categories? Send it anyway. We’re always up for a good surprise.
Submission Guidelines
We don’t do filler here—just food that works. To make the process easy for everyone, please include the following:
- A short backstory that gives context. Tell us what inspired the dish, when you usually make it, or how it connects to your background.
- A fully original recipe that hasn’t appeared elsewhere (even your blog or social feed). Include clear ingredient lists, prep time, cook time, serving size, and instructions that are easy to follow.
- If relevant, include nutrition tips, ingredient swaps, or helpful tricks. Especially if your recipe includes local produce, traditional techniques, or heritage touches—those details help readers cook with confidence.
- At least one photo of the finished dish in natural light. Doesn’t need to be a professional shoot—just something clean and clear that shows off the food. Step-by-step shots are welcome too.
We do not accept recipes written by AI, rewritten from someone else's work, or pulled from cookbooks without permission. What we want is you.
Writing Style
Don’t write like a brochure. Write like you talk to a friend while chopping garlic. Be clear, not clever. Use everyday language. Keep instructions tight, but not robotic. If your voice feels natural and grounded, it’ll fit right in here. Readers come for food, but they stay for the person behind it.
Contributor Perks
If your piece is accepted, you’ll receive:
- A byline and optional bio—let people know who you are, where you cook, or why you wrote the recipe.
- One do-follow link to your site, social, or portfolio (a small publication fee applies).
- Promotion on our social channels like Instagram, Pinterest, and occasionally Facebook. We tag you if you’d like, or keep it anonymous if preferred.
No pressure. Just value, transparency, and a shared love for real food.
How to Send It
Send us your submission in a Google Doc or Word file with any images attached or linked in a folder. If you’re not ready to submit a full post, just pitch an idea first. Short and clear is fine—we’ll let you know what works.
