Welcome to GASTRODOME.COM.MY—where I share the food that feels like home.
I’m Nadia Lim, a Malaysian recipe writer, lifelong home cook, and flavor-chaser who grew up believing food speaks louder than words ever could. I started this space for anyone tired of stiff kitchen talk and overcomplicated cooking. Here, it’s just me, a few pots, honest ingredients, and a deep love for Malaysian flavors—plus the everyday meals that keep us full and grounded.
This site is built around what we really eat. Think BREAKFAST & BRUNCH recipes that ease you into the day, MAIN COURSES with bold, satisfying flavor, SALADS that do more than sit on the side, SOUPS that feel like home, DESSERTS that soothe a long day, and DRINKS that cool, calm, or energize—depending on what you need.
You’ll find recipes sorted by the meals that make up real life:
· BREAKFAST & BRUNCH – slow starts, fast fixes, and bites worth getting out of bed for
· MAIN COURSES – the hearty center of lunch or dinner, always full of flavor
· SOUPS – from light to rich, spicy to soothing, all made to warm
· SALADS – more than lettuce—think texture, taste, and balance
· DESSERTS – baked, chilled, stirred, or scooped; sweet, never fussy
· DRINKS – teas, coolers, brews, blends—simple and refreshing
If you're hungry for real food and recipes that work, you’re in the right place. Let’s cook something good.
My Story
Born in Penang, raised in a home where dinner never started without garlic sizzling in oil, I spent my childhood shadowing aunties and hawkers, absorbing the real secrets of home-cooked magic. Long before food blogs and online recipes were a thing, we used touch, smell, and instinct to guide us. That’s what I bring here.
I left my job in publishing after realizing I cared more about broth clarity than deadlines. What started as scribbles in my recipe book slowly grew into GASTRODOME.COM.MY—a collection of reliable, unpretentious meals you can actually make.

Why I Do This
Too many people feel intimidated in their own kitchens. I want to change that. I want to prove that cooking from scratch doesn’t mean complicated. That real food fits into real life. That good taste doesn’t depend on fancy equipment, imported cheese, or rigid rules.
So if you’re here for dependable recipes and a little cooking confidence, I’m glad you found GASTRODOME. Let’s make something good today.
Connecting Through Cooking
GASTRODOME.COM.MY is not a one-way conversation. I read every comment and message. I answer when I can. Cooking should feel like a shared effort—where ideas get swapped, questions are welcome, and tips are passed along like heirloom spoons.
Whether you're flipping through breakfast ideas or planning a Sunday dinner, I want this site to feel like that friend who always has a solid recipe tucked away.
