Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Steak (ribeye or sirloin) about 1 inch thick
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves Garlic smashed
  • 2 sprigs Fresh Thyme

Instructions 

  1. 1. Preheat your cast iron pan over high heat until it is very hot.
  2. 2. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  3. 3. Add olive oil to the pan and swirl to coat.
  4. 4. Place the steaks in the pan and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until a crust forms.
  5. 5. Add garlic and thyme to the pan and continue cooking, flipping the steaks every minute, until they reach your desired doneness (use a meat thermometer to check).
  6. 6. Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
